I won't be getting the monitor until I have a system with the Abit BH6 with its 5 PCI slots. The system I'm considering now (from TC computers) has a Matrox Millenium G200 video card. They have an Advantage Pack which would be ok, except it has a BX6, which only has 4 slots, same video card.(The 2 cards I have now for my "bargain" 15" IBM G52s are both ATI & it's all ok except for not enough space). Will stop in at J&R and see what monitors they have on display. Thank you! It takes time. D.A.

ZP and All,

Yes and at 1600x1200 an RGB Cable with BNC Connectors is prefered to the standard VGA. Also realize what criteria are you judging it on. Most people have no earthly idea what to look for in a monitor. Brighter looks better just like Louder sounds better. If your not educated at what to look for how do you know when you found a good one. TV Analogy. Most people have no IDEA that there is A CORRECT WAY to set all the various controls on your TV to accurately represent what the creator of the Video Intended you to see (Its not subjective and doesn't involve makeing "Flesh Tones look Right"). Many TV's are so bad that can't even poorly display reference material without hardware modifications to the set. In the end. You have to look it, so buy what you like, but it certainly helps to be able to know how to compare as well as have a platform to compare at the same refresh rate, color depth, resolution and graphics cards.

BTW: Higher end 2D cards defintely have better ramdacs. TI, IBM, and Brooketree and the dominant makers of high quality RAMDACS.

BTW: P815 is nice but "I" prefer that flatness of the PT813. Although the 815 will run 18xx.14xx....
