Senator Lott is trying as hard as he can to avoid even having witnesses testify, if there is a trial. There are a lot of Democratic office holders who also think Clinton is guilty of the charges, incidentally, and have said so, and still want censure instead of conviction in the Senate. Your first problem is that Lott stating that there is "overwhelming" evidence the president is guilty is quite different from the idea of many Senators being on record as being ready to vote guilty.

You are the one who made the statement:

<<Since the Senate would sit
as a jury if there is a trial and many Senators' comments are already on record as being
ready to vote guilty, do you see a problem with that?>

You have mentioned exactly one senator, not "many". It is your job to prove your statement, or admit it is false. I will do my own research when I am making a point, but it is your responsibility in this case, if you want to try and prove that what you said is true.
