John, one of the reasons I was surprised to hear you talk of many senators ready to convict is that I do believe most of them are being quite careful about their public comments. To me, however, "many" would mean close to a majority, not 16%. I do find it hard to imagine that no Democrats will vote against Clinton if there is a trial with actual evidence and witnesses presented.

This is a political, not a legal process. Comparisons to criminal trials are not apposite. JLA
