An old lady who was a spinster and virgin, and proud of it , lived in a tiny
village. She knew her last days were approaching, so she told the local undertaker what she wanted on her tombstone.
BORN A VIRGIN, LIVED A VIRGIN, DIED A VIRGIN.

Not long after, she died, and the undertaker told the stonecutters of her wishes. The men, practical to a fault, thought about the inscription and decided it was too long.

They wrote simply, RETURNED UNOPENED.
