RE: MacWorld >>> We'll be demonstrating the Zip® USB drive and the USB solution for Jaz® in the Consumer Showcase (Booth #135 North Hall). <<<

I thought it was interesting that Iomega used the wording "USB solution for Jaz®" rather than Jaz® USB drive, (they refer to Zip as "Zip® USB drive.") I wonder if this "solution" will not be a new Jaz drive, but instead be some type of specialty cabling set-up that will allow existing Jaz drives to function with a USB connection?

I hope we hear more out of Iomega at MacWorld. Perhaps something Clik! related? Or maybe, they'll announce their intentions regarding SyQuest.

SyQuest has/had a large user base in the Mac community and I suspect that many of their customers will now be looking for a new way to go. I believe Iomega could exploit this situation by announcing a deal and offering service and support. And/or, perhaps they would consider offering incentives for converting to Zip and Jaz. SyQuest folks are already sold on the merits of removable media and represent a significant portion of today's user base, especially at the high-end. Locking in this group while competitive offerings are either weak, new or non-existent, seems like an opportunity that should be quickly and aggressively pursued.
