I think it's probably easy to find a good wine for over $20, but I'd like to hear about $5 and under bottles that are decent. Last night I had a Walnut Crest '98 Merlot that cost $4.69, and it wasn't bad at all. I spoke to some guy at a Napa winery who told me he buys most of his wine at Trader Joe's but couldn't remember the name of his favorite label. Any nominees?

OK, will do. I had been avoiding the south american stuff and the australian, but now that Iv'e read so much positive here about them, I'll be trying them out from TJ's.

Personally, the best info I've gotten here so far includes Californians drinking the local Cabs too green. This explains my uneven experience with those.

Cheers,
Chaz
