Larry, go to PSC thread and read about Sprint and PSC.

McCaw is a builder, not an operator. If he sold once to T and made billions he will sell again. Recent SEC document that terminated relationship in joint venture between NXTL, NXLK and Eagle River(McCaw holding company) paves the way for a sale of NXTL.

MOT owns more of NXTL than McCaw. NXTL has a load of debt and will not show a profit for many years. McCaw Cellular was the same situation. McCaw will sell. Also, don't rule out T as a potential buyer. N's primary customer is business users, who have the highest ARPU. This is also the target customer for T. There has been a rumor that T already made a run at Nextel, but was turned down. They may do it again just so WCOM won't have a competing wireless business.

FRO is too small for WCOM,but may get purchased by one of the Baby Bells or T. T has been buying small wireless companies lately. Didn't they buy Vanguard about a month ago for 2 billion?

WCOM is in a panic right now. If they don't move real fast they will be left out and it will cost a ton to get back in. This may be the first time that Bernie has to make a less than accreative acquisition. To get either ATI or NXTL is going to cost a boat load.

One last thing. ATI does not have a national footprint and that is why the BA acquisition is smart. Also only about 25% of ATI's customers are digital. Most are the low ARPU generic analog users.
