re position (80%) or day play (20%) I think I understand what is meant by a position play--you maintain a position in anticipation of an event which will drive the stock. Many people call this investing...it just makes sense to divest occasionally and lock in profits. The day play on the other hand comes down to watching the price action for a few hours, and skimming small movements. Professional traders here--did I get any of that right? Thread (and Jim when you find this post) what do you suppose was meant by those giving those percentages? And any further clarification on position, swing, and day play would be appreciated. I've not read any books on trading...maybe I didn't want to jinx my good fortune up til now, but I am getting more curious about the terminology--especially swing trade, what is that? As far as the no no on BB stocks...agreed, play by the rule or example of the thread. But I would say that while there is a lot of junk below a buck, there is certainly a lot more junk (in market cap) above a buck. Watch billions of market cap evaporate out of some of those internets now...I just discovered a free ISP here in Seattle...wait til the news gets out and the likes of aol start losing revenue, I'm on it right now...rock solid connection at 45333, and I hardly even notice the advertisement window which is moveable and is one inch by seven on my screen. May have to find a hack to make it go away alltogether tho...but I digress. The BB is not a bad place to bottomfish...and for what it is worth, I also own the offending symbol, which is of course how I found that series of messages. Ooops. And finally...getting back to the subthread on Boeing, Boeing does not make a lot of the parts...really just final assembly and markup. And I'll bet 777 parts have higher margin anyway, though I guess you could counter that there are a hell of a lot more 737's out there:-) Daysleeper says goodnight all, have to catch a nap so I can watch a little of the first trading of the new year! --Mike
