Somehow, I feel people will accept Walt Disney faster than Apple. It's like having strong support on your flanks.

OK. But the point is that Apple Inc. and Disney belong to two very different markets. So the question becomes: Does a computer company like Apple pairing with a multimedia/entertainment company like Disney mean more to mutlimedia/entertainment investors or to computer investors? Which industry is hotter? Where's most of the money going? Apple represents a chance for Disney to get out onto the Web in a big, creative way, and I won't deny that there are some pretty cool synergies there. I just don't see what's in it for Apple other than eyeballs, which may or may not pay.

I'll agree with you, of course, that Disney has a grand old name and is "trusted" at this point as a brand much more than Apple is (as of 01/03/99). I guess it comes down to which side of the fence you're standing on. Looking at it from a revenue standpoint, Disney (it seems to me) has a hell of a lot more to gain from getting its content out to all those iMac users than Apple does from merely placing a link to the Disney Web site on apple.com. What's really in it for Apple other than name recognition?

Steve's done FAR too much work polishing Apple over the past year to need a company like Disney to lean on. In fact I bet he still has sleepless nights thinking about that $150M deal he made with the devil....
