... the TV. Having a sudden attack of news-hunger, he stumbled over to it and turned it on, rubbing his now sore nose all the way.

ESPN was reporting the NBA season status.

CNN was reporting on the day's impeachment process progress (or lack thereof).

WB was airing an 8 hour marathon of cartoons.

Nothing good on, as usual.

So, he sat down to read the financial section of the newspaper. Perhaps he would find an in depth explanation of that new SEC regulation regarding Bulletin Board stock companies and their requirement to full report their finances. He knew of several companies that would be affected. His mind created a vision of an "I told you so" post on his favorite threads. Was this good or bad for business? He'd have to figure this one out, for sure.

As he was searching for the financial section, he saw the entertainment section. He glanced at the picture of the actors standing outside the local CinePlex. He discarded the section, and continued to look for the financial section.

Then, he stopped. "Hey ... wait a minute. That looked like ..."

He picked the entertainment section back up, took out his magnifying glass that he always carries in his hip pocket (what .... you don't carry one?) and scrutinized the faces of the groupies behind the actors. "Well, gosh darn ... it is her!"

He dropped everything and called the Washington office.

"Hey, Larry. It's me! .... Yeah, everything's fine here. .... Just shut up for a minute, will ya? .... You're not gonna' believe who's out here ..."

Not an unusual situation for Valentine's Day. It happened every year.

Not one of her gentlemen callers thought to send her flowers, candy, or even a card.

"Well, that does it! I've had it with these men. Enough is enough! I'll show those guys a thing or two!"

With that exclamation of disgust, she grabbed her coat, flung open the penthouse door, and ran out into the hallway. As she was preparing to slam the penthouse door, she paused to think through her actions. Smiling wickedly, she walked back inside, crossed the living area, and strode into the bedroom.
