Hmmmm . . . I am not sure that CSPAN's coverage of the impeachment debate wasn't hell in its own way, but I do know what you mean about Jerry Springer and more specifically, choosing what we expose ourselves to. There are even a lot of people who deliberately choose not to watch any news, any disgusting talk show programs, etc. because these just bring ugliness into our spirits. Over the last several years I have stopped watching gratuitously violent movies because I don't want those images seared into my head, and game shows make me agitated and ill because I feel like they are a total waste of time. Oh, and I also think housework is very bad for the spirit, but I am having a hard time convincing my husband that I am not just lazy! I am coughing hard at the moment from the dust I stirred up when I decided to clean up the books and magazines around my bed and put them in a bookcase, and just had to take a little break while I recover. I do think living in clutter is very sapping of energy as well, so I am resolved to totally clean up my environment. Well, if I get really involved in this cleaning project I will see everyone here sometime in the year 2000! I'd better get back to it now!
