Well in terms of exclusive, I'm definitely remember SGI anouncing an exclusive deal to market the tube for hitachi(usa or north america). I looked in yahoo sgi. It only goes back to may. It could have been before that. I'll pose the question on the SGI thread. I agree with your niche market concept. But how many 10k of units will their be in this niche market. I got my 1600x1200 21' monitor over a year ago at 800. But 2.7k is cheap for a gotta have status of the latest toy. I see big numbers just in finance where space, power and heat are at a premium. Also it's aledged that the image is crystal clear. My company will be getting one for eval asap. But I've no reason no to expect that the image is all it's cracked up to be.

You have to have digital feed to lcd to obtain this. SGI and nine may have a short lead in time to market.

Thanks Jerry and Thomas for those last two posts. Personally, I could go for a little more discussion on NINE and am sorry to see so little chatter over here.

I've been playing the market for about a year and sometimes I get a "vibe" on a stock. I don't currently own any NINE but something tells me that buying at $1.25 or lower is a smart thing. I'm not sure where my "good vibe" is coming from, but it's probably as simple as figuring that everyone who has seen the new flat-panel screen is absolutely gaga over it, and NINE has a lock on the video card for that flat-panel screen. A part of me is tempted to invest in SGI since they are the makers of the monitor, but I don't know much about that company and just find myself unsure.

Anyone who cares to give me a list of pros, or cons, for buying NINE, please do.

Thanks,
Chris
