<To end the subject....

I think that giving a gift to those with whom one interacts service wise (in addition to my
previous statement) is going above and beyond tipping. I tip my hair stylus ($6 bucks for
a wash and cut so why not pay a little extra when one finds someone they like), but I
think Christmas is great time to really say something special.

Can I leave now and go back to my regular haunt? <VBG>

No, you can't leave until I offer one more opinion, or the same one more succinctly. I actually think The whole idea of gift giving is made much more complicated and less meaningful by giving gifts to tradespeople, etc. My entire point was not that you are not tipping (it seems like maybe you misunderstood me), but that tipping throughout the year plus maybe a plate of homemade cookies or a loaf of homebaked fruit bread was plenty to give these people during the holidays. I thought you were complaining because you ran out of money before you bought gifts for people who are truly close to you. If that is the case, then whittling away at your Christmas list seems like it would accomplish your goal of having enough money. I will talk to you about this later in the year!

I knew that Jill was getting married, but not any of the details of her job since then. It seems like SOMEONE would need to do her job--it's pretty demanding keeping everyone straight around here.

What is wrong with "dammit", exactly?
