I remember that day. Their web site was down, and their phone lines were jammed. They claimed it was a one time event and they quickly repaired the glitch by shutting down the site that nite.

I had the some trouble with NDB - cost me a lot of money ... wanted to get out of something and webstation went down and by the time I got through to a "live" broker (almost half an hour) stock was down about 5 points. Lost on a couple of stocks the same way, couldn't buy or sell because I was "locked" out.

Of course, there is always Power Broker and I finally broke down and used that last week .... still lost on a trade since you do not realize you are locked out of the webstation for 5 minutes sometimes - just kind of freezes and keeps saying site found, waiting for reply. You have no way of knowing that there is no reply coming! And those 5 minutes can be costly in a volatile market.
