John -

Might be thoughtless buying bordering to panic buying.

Correct.

I heard an NPR piece recently about an Amish store... non-electric stuff is flying off their shelves. There was a clip about a phone conversation with a customer wanting to buy an old fashioned iron (like solid iron!)...& it was asked how the customer intended to actually heat the iron. "You mean I'll need a wood stove to turn it on?!" Duh.

We should start a thread on "Dumbest Y2K thing I've seen/heard..." Actually duh-2000.com sort of already covers this. I think this is something we should put the FBN PR crew on...

TED?

What companies would benefit most from Y2K related panic buying??? Canned food compnies, probably.
Camping/Survival equipment, most probably.
Generaters, sure!

Other then Coleman, no great stocks come to mind. Guess I should go to the store and start writing down company names!!

Thanks in advance
