well paul,
i've decided to go with mb trading in january (within the next two weeks). i will send my dtn unit (satelite dish data feed) back to dtn in mid jan. (it costs me 250$ month). will get these quotes and level II through mb and get the real bonus of the faster execution system. i've been trading for 13 months using my current system. traded for 5 months prior to that just using schwab's site and paying for quotes (bad deal). if i can't succeed at the trading with the faster execution then after 3 months i will stop day-trading and go with mutual funds and bond funds and selected long-term holds on individual stocks. i just feel that day-trading is far less risky as the market is very volatile of late and expected to be even more so in 1999. i has been running a 4 out of 5 win rate (4 wins). lately though, i am in a funk (feeling limited to position trading) due to the lack of a good execution system with schwab. i am a much better short term trader than i am a position trader. i guess the more knowledge you acquire about nasdaq level II and how schwab-type firms handle your orders the more skittish you get. you can see with level II that using a schwab or a web sreet, etc. really loads the deck up against you. now if you are a position trader and into going long this is not so bad-but if you are a very short term day trader who wants to be flat by days end they can kill you!!!

Kaz, in your response to Luanne you mention that you use JPR but not MB Trading? Are you thinking about switching to MBT with their $22.95 rates versus $10 at JPR? Where were the rate cuts at MBT effective January 1st? The starting level rates are still the same old $22.95 !!
