Sorry Bob I didn't write the article. I did read a post today on this message board that was a copied email from Vangaurd in response to a question regarding when the fund was buying AOL. The response said that it could NOT buy in until AOL was LISTED on the S&P on Monday.

I have read many news releases over the last few days that point to Monday as the buying day. I have held other companies that were added to the exchange and speaking from my experience......Monday will be WILD.

It was in todays postings if you want to go find it. I'm long AOL and Alka-selsor free.<g>

It also says that "the company will be added to the S&P 500 after market close on Thursday.

This would be my translation>>>>>

The funds are required to buy in at market close at the closing price or higher. Technically speaking AOL closed at $160 last Thursday. I look for it to open above $160 and then be overwhelmed with fund orders all day. Also look for it to continue to trade after hours on Monday.

That is IMHO.
