Here's some more food for thought that might peak some people's interest or concern. Has it ever occurred to anybody out there what would happen if a major U.S. online auction house came north and set up shop here for Canadian consumers who could pay in Canadian dollars? Even though our market is much smaller in comparison to the U.S. the possibility is not entirely out of the question. Who's to say that this may not happen in 1999 either!!! The damage that would be inflicted on BII would be too much for it to handle by having some American bully come into its own backyard and that's a fact! Even Godin knows this, and that is why I say the numbers are ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to this company's success. We all know that American internet auctioneers have received just as much, if not more, media exposure up here as BII and this could be a legitimate threat if the company doesn't start pulling itself up by the bootstraps!
