I haven't done any studies, but I've found that positive crosses above the line when the stock is already doing well often don't have much oomph behind them, to use the technical term.

The danger in the below-line crosses is that they can come close or just start to break positive but peter out. Wait for a definitive signal and you often miss the big breaks.

That's why it's an art and not a science, right?

Any thoughts on preceding day volume when you are picking daytrading candidates?
