Hillary Millhous Clinton!
Dateline: 03/25/98
Our first major exposure to her as a nation came on that
fateful night in 1992 when she sat, headband
strategically in place, holding darling Bill's hand, and
telling us, "I'm not some little woman who is standing by
her man, here!" And with that she proceeded to
convince a large majority of the electorate that poor little
Billy had been wrongfully accused by a "painted woman"
of scarlet virtue!
Even though we heard the tapes where Bill told
Gennifer to "Just Lie! They can't prove it! Just lie!", we
knew when Hillary looked into the camera and said that
since she had forgiven and she believed in Bill, it was
basically the constitutional duty of the rest of us to do
the same!
With that first national exposure to Hillary's headband,
the country followed her logic as carefully as any
country song has ever sung out the mournful, "Stand By
Your Man!". Hell, if Hillary could forgive his little tiny
faults - couldn't the rest of us?
Few knew then that Hillary Clinton would also say, the
first day after her husband was inaugurated, that
henceforth she was to be called, "Hillary Rodham
Clinton". Some of us cringed and wondered if we
needed to insert some regal title in there somewhere.
Even fewer of us knew that some 20 years before, in the
mid 1970's, that one of Hillary's first gigs was to work for
the Watergate Congressional Committee. She did
research with Bernie Nessbaum. In point of fact, some of
her research was used as the basis for the proposed
impeachment of Richard Millhous Nixon.
Hillary is nothing if she is not a very intelligent woman.
She always excelled academically throughout out her
school career. Her appointment to the Watergate
Committee speaks to her excellence in ability and skill.
Hillary also worked on the appeal involving Nixon's
asserting "Executive Privilege" when the Watergate
Committee subpoenaed the audio tapes that he had
made of various conversations with his aides and
others. After Judge Sirica got through kicking Nixon's
butt all over Washington, the Nixon team appealed his
order denying the Executive Privilege. The Supreme
Court of the United States kicked him around a little
more and voted unanimously for Nixon to turn the tapes
over to the Court forthwith. With that, Nixon took his
leave and resigned.
You needed to know about Hillary's previous legal
successes. It is with that knowledge that make us all
gasp to know she is pushing that bastion of White
House barristers to now challenge that same court in
Washington, D. C., for that same Executive Privilege not
only for Billy, but for herself!
Don't cock your head at me that way - it makes me
nervous! You and I and half the Sixth Grade at the local
school know that she is no more entitled to "Executive
Privilege" than the local church mouse! But that has not
dissuaded her.
Try to remember that despite the many revelations of
Bill's wicked, wicked ways, his poll numbers have
continued to remain high. This has puzzled more than a
few of us, by the way!
Over the last two months of this latest scandal, they
have "tested" this popularity, and it seems no matter
what they do or say, it continues to remain high. There
is even a Clinton joke to the effect that if his numbers go
down, he'll reveal a new scandal so they will go back
up!
So why not push it all the way? Thus, we have a
demand being made on the courts of this country that is
simply unheard of. Who in the hell ever heard of
Executive Privilege covering the president's wife?
Their argument, of course, is that she acts as an
"advisor" to him and based on the Supreme Court
holding in the Mike Espy case that Executive Privilege
could be extended to high level advisors, they now say
that Hillary qualifies.
Hillary has let us all know she would never think of fitting
into the old fashioned role of wife and confidante. No,
she is much more intelligent and important than that.
Still, there are some of my fellow females who would
relish explaining to Hillary that being a loving wife and
confidante is probably one of the most valuable and
rewarding jobs one can have, and no such companion
needs or wants Executive Privilege. (In fact, there is a
spousal protection for the pillow talk between married
people.)
But we can hardly fault Hillary for not wanting to brag
about her marital situation with Bill. After all, he has not
only broken every conceivable vow held sacred in
marriage, he has also rubbed it in her face and let the
world know as well the low esteem in which he surely
must hold his beloved wife!
No, Hillary learned a long time ago that there is a
wonderful replacement for fidelity and endearments from
an apparent loveless marriage. There is power!
And oh how sweet the taste of that heady wine! And
Hillary has tasted it enough to know that she will go to
any extreme necessary to keep from losing it.
Many have suspected that Hillary is the true "brains"
behind the Clinton phenomenon. When the Lewinsky
Scandal hit head on, Clinton looked and acted like a
deer caught in headlights! A day or so later, Hillary took
control and from that point on, the White House has
been a lean, mean, fighting machine. If you dare cross
them, her wrath is let loose on you. Dick Morris even
thinks that she is actually now, "in charge" as a trade off
for saving his butt.
Brothers and Sisters, the point I am so laboriously trying
to make here is that Hillary knows that she is not
entitled to the shield of Executive Privilege. She further
knows, via her work with Watergate, that even Billy Boy
is not entitled to use this protection when the issue has
to do with illegal activity - most especially when it
involves a sandal of the likes of Monica Lewinsky and
various other female victims throughout the land. (It is
designed to protect the president and his aides from
having to reveal matters of national security or military
matters to those not authorized to have the information.)
All this jumping through hoops is because the Clintons
do not want Bruce Lindsay to testify to certain things. He
is Clinton's closest advisor and he knows where the
bodies are buried. Sidney Blumenthal, affectionately
known as "Sid Vicious" to those who know him, is
Hillary's confidante and she is determined that he not
testify to any of her plotting and scheming. Thus - she is
demanding the Executive Privilege be extended to any
Aides that have had conversations with her!
Brothers and Sisters, this is a sad time in our history.
The corruption that we witness daily has inured much of
our country to the point of not caring what the outcome
may be. They have chosen to take a blind stance and
look myopically at their "possessions" and state that all
else be damned - "Let me have my "stuff"!
This is not what made America great! Americans have
never been so wrapped up in their small selfish selves
that they could not take on the task of saving this
country. And my friends, this county must be saved. We
are on the verge of losing it entirely unless we take
courage in hand and tend to our duties.
It is not just a constitutional right for us, it is an ultimatum
that love of country and freedom demand.
Ah Politics! Ain't It Grand!
