Welcome Paul, & count me as an AOL "Ferdinanda" MWWWOOOAAHH!! I will place some IMBNHOO(that means in my bullish/bearish not humble opinionated opinion, like it?)(does it mean anything in Hawaiian? - Imb'nho'o) input for your poll on the AOL board, as probably more convenient for you. Mahalo.Blue's AOL post stopped me in my tracks from deploying my one and only steel-fisted stock market discipline - getting my basis out at the First Opportunity - (great timing, Blue, thanks, I read it as I was about to sign off and call broker, it was THAT close ya know) which occurred with AOL last week! Holding all, as yes it WILL go higher before the mid-month! Why? Three reasons 1)Buyers from Funds
2)"You've Got Mail" a hit and just hitting second-tier theatres, and I hear the soundtrack is popular 3) Amateur investors might want to dip a toe into the wild wild internet with AOL, and They balance the portfolio in late December and buy new in January, like the broker tells them to do, of course that's only IMBNHOO. Looky - last spring, I bought 100 shares @69, which split to 200 shares in November, at AOL/NSCP buyout announce sold 300 shares of Netscape - then turned around and bought 100 shares AOL (a free 10% which now has seemed to dry up as NSCP price now tracks AOL as near the .45 shares AOL for
1 share NSCP buyout agreement as to make one wonder) which now gives me 300 shares plus so it's dead near a tripler, counting in the split.
Also bought a couple other lil DOTCOM up-and comers with the NSCP $.
I'm holding onto 100 NSCP just to see what it does; THAT's no loser either! Blue, Paul, All,ya think the ripe opportunity to sell ALL AOL & buy it back again for a 30% increase in shares will be coming up?
I think so. Like you guys say, all in January. Oh yeah, reason #4) JANUARY EFFECT. OTC Nasdaq & Amex smalls are latestcraze, with momentum growing and these performing as +++ on days when the other bigger stocks, even AOL, are tumbling dice. They're the tidepool creatures in the minus tide come out of hiding to reveal their true natures, as of late. No matter who buys and holds AOL, when these smalls hit their true momentum, many will be selling the quick AOL profit to get in on these. (Blue, do I have the drill right at last?) Of course, WE already DID that, so that dip is when WE buy back in. 10-4 Correctamundo?
Looking forward to DJ on the board, had emailed Blue private with my positive vote, hereby makin' it public.
Aloha, Paul & All,
Joan
