AMD didn't have enough chips to supply Gateway. They were sold out a couple of months ago as reported on this BB, a couple of months ago.
If all goes well with the K7 intro where will Gateway be when Compaq, IBM, Fujitsu, Acer, HP, have "the" chip in their boxes...?
I'll tell you, they will be SOL....unless they have already established a relationship with AMD. Gateway using the K6 will be an insurance policy...just in case...the K7 is all it's cracked up to be.
