You also have to keep in mind how much better this will become as TV and the internet merge into a truly interactive medium with faster download times.

Yes but there-in lies the rub! I agree that the capabilities of the net will become markedly improved with higher transmission capabilities. In other words cable and or hybrid co-axial and fiber optic will greatly improve download times for the likes of the 3-D/audio enhanced modeling that John has in store for the website catalog of products.

Interestingly as I sit here penning this info I am listening to a Internet Radio transmission of some live Jazz via the thin 18 or 20 gauge wire (telephone wire) imagine when transmission speeds are more beefier.... yet the backbone of RDIM's infrastructure will also have to be state of the art (and technological obsolesence is as common as influenza). Look at AOL which just recently pumped mega-bucks into their back-bone. Wow!!! Fortunately RDIM will probably use the knowledge/resources of the Internet (Flowers-guy) in determining how to cost effectively approach that issue.

Demographic and psychographic info only goes so far... but in the final end getting the word out about the "new" buying club will be all important. AOL mass marketed their disks to the point that I hardly needed to buy any new 1.44 disks. I had all I wanted from AOL. Plane trips found AOL disks given with meals. That's marketing. Marketing (especially mass marketing requires BIG coin. I hope to read the RDIM business plan and see what percentage they have ear marked for this area. Bottom line.... customers have little brand loyalty and even littler customer loyalty for a given retailer/wholesaler. Price, customer satisfaction, ease of shopping comfort and liberal return policies are the pre-requisites for shoppers today. If RDIM can provide on all four of these areas they will have a decent following. If not then they had best reserve their talents for another endeavor.
