Yes but proportionately that percentage would/could amount to some huge numbers. If the powers that be of China avoid implementing tarriffs and huge taxes on Internet purchases it could one day amount to a sizeable buying area. Of course it is every managers dream to crack the Asian markets.... eventually I imagine the Internet may indeed be a very realistic way to approach that huge egg.

I don't have any idea how much research you have done on the subject, but since I hadn't done any, I accepted your statement as a challenge to find out what was going on in China. I was surprised by what I found. Here is a link that contains a great deal of information on China's internet system. Of particular note and relevancy, is the graph in the center of the page depicting the projected number of users, their income and time on line.

There are actually e-commerce sites already in China, with some big name US companies involved.
