Thanks QuikSand, I don't even know if our-old jazzed up Presario 486 will handle the files you mentioned. I'll have to ask housemate. I know we have midisoft for synthesizer! :D . But that's about all I know. Housemate has machines at work that would probably play your files--maybe!!! It looks like we will not buy another computer for home until we can buy one with a Unix or Linux operating system. QwikSand, why do you think 60-minute piece was a monster promotion for SUN? I don't disagree because it gave Sun exposure. Scott told the public that he is not afraid to stand-up to MSFT. Also, Scott summarized succinctly MSFT's product problems: they are cumbersome and unreliable. I am interested in your opinions, however. PS: Have you ever met Scott?
