The "News"biz.yahoo.com Monday January 4, 8:15 am Eastern Time Company Press Release SOURCE: Capital Management Sciences CMS Completes New Cash Management Module for Money Market Fund Managers Includes SEC 2a-7 Regulatory Reports and Database of 40,000 Short-Term Instruments LOS ANGELES, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital Management Sciences, a division of Data Broadcasting Corporation (Nasdaq: DBCC - news), today announced the release of a new Cash Management Module in its BondEdge portfolio analytics software package. Designed for financial institutions managing money market mutual funds and short-term investment portfolios, the new module monitors the composition of taxable and tax-exempt funds to ensure compliance with SEC 2a-7 regulation. This new feature complements the existing Compliance Module in BondEdge, which provides a fully integrated system across the entire portfolio management and trading process. SEC 2a-7 required tests incorporated in BondEdge include Issuer Diversification, Maximum Maturity, First Tier/Second Tier, Guarantor Concentration, Ineligible/Illiquid Securities and Mark-to-Market. Using BondEdge, these tests are automated and easily generated for SEC 2a-7 compliance purposes. The module also offers a database of money market instruments including commercial paper, bankers acceptances and bank CDs. Data is provided to CMS by the Depository Trust Company and includes over 40,000 fixed rate and LIBOR-indexed securities. The data and market values for these instruments are provided to BondEdge clients daily via the Internet. ''Compliance continues to be a high profile issue for investment managers regardless of whether they are managing short-term or long-term portfolios. Over the years, SEC guidelines for money market mutual funds have become more restrictive, requiring managers to implement an automated and real-time compliance system,'' said Laurie Adami, chief operating officer at CMS. Sanwa Bank California's investment management department was instrumental in helping CMS develop the Cash Management Module. ''Compliance is an important part of our investment management process and helps us measure risks surrounding our mutual funds,'' said David Lampert, fund manager, Sanwa Bank California. ''We recently introduced two new money market funds so having the compliance reports in BondEdge will help us manage the process and monitor our funds on a daily basis.''
