JP, I found last week's light volume as a great opportunity to buy Jan 140s, 150s, and Feb 150s. I would love to see more out of the money February options (limit is now 155). I think this stock is worth at least a good 10 point run in the last 2 trading days before earnings come out. Many investors will anticipate great earnings and a stock split.
What unknown bad news is there for MSFT? We know that only 2 witnesses remain for the government's case. Once the DOJ rests is finished and MSFT starts presenting (i hope it is next week) --- I am looking for a big pop in the stock once DOJ rests.

I had been a little conservative with my predictions on stock price leading up to earnings -- but am sticking with my Jan 150s.

I cannot imagine that MSFT would not be upgraded by some analyst who presently has it at less than a strong buy. At least earnings estimates will be raised by someone who already rates it a strong buy.
I sure hope Rick Sherlund (Goldman Sachs)has something nice to say about MSFT by the end of next week --- This alone could be worth about at least 15 points.
I am going to stick to a "buy and hold" strategy for these options for now.
Best of luck
