Tony,
Nail biting time? I don't think so.
Voltages suggest Intel has slightly better processes than AMD...
but I'm not smart enough to know whether this is do to the simpler design rules of the Intel chips or actual smaller transistors or whatever.
If indeed the new Celeron 366s and 400s are built around the Katmai core and the Katmai runs at 500MHz then 550MHz isn't out of the question.
Of course all this remains to be seen as we don't know if Intel will
freq lock the new Celerons....or if the Engineering sample was a ringer. We will know soon though...next few days.
BTW, all indications are that the Celeron 366 and 400 will be available on Slot one AND Socket 370...
If Intel leaves them un-freq. clocked then they will be covering all the bases. AMDs gaining in market share could be put on hold until we see the K6-2-450 and then K6-3...Apears Intel has a few weeks to make some hay.

All the best, Jim

Jim
