THREAD ---MSFT report date ( January 19 ) and whisper #

C'mon -- they even list the report date for Oracle as Mar 10/99.
Whisper #s for MSFT are meaningless.

The whisper number of 61c will become about 63c in two
weeks (that is how whisper numbers move). MSFT has to
deliver about 65 - 66c and also has to give at least
moderately positive outlook to to keep the stock where
it is i.e. at 140 and at a trailing PE of 64 inclusive
of this Q EPS.

The problem area are following:

(a) Revenue growth would be only 25%
(b) Microsoft won't split
(c) Microsoft will guide flat 3Q compared to 2Q

There is good chance that by end of Jan or by end of Feb.
we will see high 120s to low 130s. That will be good point
of entry for long term holders.
