Thanks, Hal. Your brother-in-law is not alone. There are many 40-year-old ARs still in service. (Ampexes, too!) Worst thing that happens to the speakers is they get to need new surrounds (they dry out), no big deal. Ironically, I have a ton of audio stuff that I don't even use. Who has time any more? Gettin' closer to picking up some AXC. As as been said here many times, the trademark's worth more than a buck. (Pan Am comes to mind...) You get the upside, however elusive, for 'free'... BAM
