Skeeter, yeah, I know what you mean...just wanted to clarify it (I told you I was feeling curmudgeonly today). As for the 'Skins, they didn't need help for Denver, but the Niners and Giants were both better than the 'Skins that year. The refs took each out of the game in the first half with too many calls, at critical times. They took them out of field position, or gave the 'Skins good field position, and caused doubt and confusion with the Giants and Niners because they were being penalized for things each team (and the 'Skins, too-but weren't called on) had been doing all year. The fans were cheated out of seeing the two best teams play that year. But I guess it made the D.C azw's happy, and the league got to keep its monopoly status, so all's right with the world, and who cares? I know I'm caring less and less every year.
