I could say it proves my point, that bear encounters are usually slow, grinding miserable things that allow for exit strategies.<g> However, I must concede that neither an apocalyptic BK (the surfing term makes me think of a crashing wave)nor a slow, grinding bear market is fun. Your point, which I never forget, and never minimize, is that bear markets cause misery for many. If they can be avoided through prudence, it would be better to do so.
