carl, the ONLY reason i see for the koreans to aggressively go after 256 mb is a longer term strategy to tie up the lowest cost producer spots. they've written off 64 mb as a money loser and are banking on 256 mb to make the money back, imho. mu better shell out the billions to get their too...

there is little brand loyalty - there is a lot of low price loyalty given a high quality product. heat, reliability and cost are all better in the 256 mb chip once it is mass production.
