Actually, there is a way to "save" SS without onerous new taxes or reducing benefits.

Somehow, within 10 - 15 years, we have to get 2 people to become as productive as 3.7 people are today. If that happened, problem solved.

It could be done. Steve Forbes is the only one out there even thinking about it as a goal let alone proposing strategies to accomplish it.

The government unions have been exempting themselves for years. They also did the same crap with Clinton's Health Security program. They would've been exempted from paying into it also.
