PLRP.....To: mike mulhearn (2217 ) From: lost a mint Monday, Jan 4 1999 2:03PM ET Reply # of 2224 Hello everyone. I have returned from my two week vacation to the East Coast. I made the trek to Virginia to see if Pacel really exists. The day I was there was New Years Eve so I didn't expect them to be working. Pacel does exist. Its in a small townhouse row of businesses in "Old town" Manassas. I was surprised that they were working a half day. When I started to ask the secretary some questions Dave came out of his office to introduce himself. He took me to his office and tried to show me the web site but the phone line to the Internet was in use by a programmer upstairs. We talked briefly about the stock price and the reporting status. I did not ask him many questions about stocks because he did not seem to understand that much about it( He wasn't sure about what "averaging down" means?) There were two things he was very clear about: First, Pacel will not be a reporting company until the end of march; Second, Pacel will not show a profit for 1999. At first I was concerned about this but after talking with him I realized it was not a problem. He has to rely on other people to get the audit process done so that is why it will be until march. Pacel will not show a profit for 1999 because he is using the revenue for the expansion of the business. Since I was more interested in the software side of Pacel, He brought out his Laptop to give me a demo. We sat down in the conference room and He began to show me visual writer. Right away I could tell this was his bread and butter, something he spent a lot of time on. I was pretty impressed with it, especially the voice recognition part that NASA had used on the shuttle. After we finished with Visual Writer he showed me some of the new things they were working on. One program was a more advanced screen saver. It would allow users with different passwords to login. Also it would log the programs the person used after they logged in. He said it was very beta and would be ready in a month or two. It crashed twice when he was trying to show it two me, Kay had to come in to help fix the problem. The second was a program called "Zoomer", I believe. It allowed the user to grab any piece of the screen and convert it to a graphic. This one was solid and I thought it was a great tool for the novice to get a picture off of a web page. He said he was in negotiations with a distributor and they would be available in stores like Staples and Office max sometime late this year(not exactly sure on this, I didn't take notes). The whole thing took about an hour and I thanked him for his time. I am not sure if he was thrilled with some of my questions but I felt I did get some good answers. Overall I feel much better about my investment and I know this will definitely pay off in about a year. Bob P.S. Please ask me for more details, since its been a few days I may have left something out
