>Short's objective to act as a catalyst, scaring lots of other investors into selling their shares, in order for the Shorts to buy-up those shares at cheaper prices. And believe me, INCA and a few others have been doing lot's of buying at the end of each trading day since christmas.<

Greg,

Thanks for the explanation, but could you explain why this kind of market manipulation does not come under regulatory scrutiny?

TIA.

But there are a handful of market makers who I believe primarily represent one or two individuals or funds, and as of late have been selling short a huge volume of AAPL shares.

Marc,

Appreciate the information about Level II activity. I will get to it myself when I retire, if I have any money left {g}. How do you determine whether an order placed is a short or a sell. If I come in at the ask to sell 1,000 shares short, is there some sort of indication on the Level II screen that it is a short position? Thanks for your response.

Sam

Marc I see you watch AAPL on level II. Can you tell me where Goldmen Sach has been mostly the Bid or the Ask? I used to trade AAPL quite a bit starting at $13 and riding all the way up to $38, until last April when I sold every thing but 200 shares. Its starting to look like I may miss the next move up.
