Chris, most of those stocks from the Washington Post are in the dumps for good reason. For example, what will happen to TDW if the price of oil stays low for an extended period of time? Answer: it could go out of business. Could that happen? Certainly, because many countries that are in severe economic trouble are major oil producers -- like the former Soviet states. Since their only economic resource is oil, there is no incentive for them to reduce production. I could make similar arguments for many companies on the list including Bethleham Steel and Case. That's the problem with value investing.
