I don't know if you saw this but I found this to be interesting news about AOL

NEW YORK, Jan 4 (Reuters) - Media and communications sector revenues rose 12.3 percent, the
fourth consecutive double-digit increase but lower than the previous year, according to the 16th
Annual Veronis Suhler Communications Industry Report.

According to the report, released Monday, 1997 revenues were $227.5 billion, with consumer
online services up 47.4 percent to $3.8 billion.

Operating cash flow grew 18.1 percent, compared with 14 percent in 1996, the report said. The
improved cash flow is a result from the 1996 record breaking mergers, according to the report.

The report tracks 469 publicly reporting companies in 13 industry segments - television
broadcasting, radio broadcasting, subscription video services, entertainment (film, music,
interactive), newspaper publishing, consumer books and consumer magazines, online,
business-to-business communications, publishing, business information services, advertising
agencies, and specialty media.

>> Tax selling is not going to affect AOL and not affect YHOO, EBay, and the other high flyers even more. <<

As for the story, well, I take it with a grain of salt. Not everything in the media about AOL is going to be peaches and cream.

IMHO, if there ever was a hold, AOL is one of them. I'm still expecting more profit-taking as we've experienced lately.

The buying pressure from funds won't wane a lot, though. If AOL stays put for a while and bases at 140-160, I'll be a contented little pup.

I think world events and their effect on US markets will have a greater effect on AOL's stock than anything else, barring a breakdown in the partnerships with SUNW and NSCP.

As for AMZN and YHOO falling...it's hard to gage, but earnings numbers are looking good on a superficial level at this point.
