History doesn't look at Andrew Johnson as a villain, even though he was impeached. If there is one figure that we remember with pride from those days, aside from Andrew Johnson, it is the courageous Senator Edmund Ross who had the guts to counter the threats from the Tom DeLays of the day and voted in the Senate against the removal of President Johnson from office.

Of course, the rabid hyenas of the day that tried to bring the President down, do get a mention, but only because their names have to be mentioned. Nothing less, nothing more.
