xcr600...

Briefing.com had this to say about CP.

>>CompUSA (CPU -5/16) announced record sales after the close... Q2 sales jumped 22% to $1.78 bln from year ago level, though ever important same-store sales figure fell 4.7%... Company noted that PC sales rose nearly 50% while average selling prices plunged 20%... Integration of Circuit City stores resulted in higher than expected promotional activity which will keep downward pressure on gross margins in the quarter... Expects less such activity to result in improved margins next quarter... Also noted that CompUSA Direct, company's Internet and mail-order business posted sales gain of 48%... Expects to post earnings on 2/3... Briefing.com sees beaten down retailer as a strong turnaround play for 1999 based on discounted valuations and favorable comparison periods... Target area - high teens.<<

Sounds bullish to me. BTW, I have no position in CPU but have ben following the dialog on this thread.
