Vodafone makes $45 billion offer for AirTouch

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- In a move calculated to disrupt AirTouch Communications' (ATI) merger talks with Bell Atlantic Corp. (BEL), Britain's Vodafone Group has made a counter offer. Citing unnamed sources, The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday reported that Vodafone (VOD-LS) has offered to buy AirTouch Communications for more than $45 billion. A link-up between AirTouch and Vodafone, Britain's biggest mobile phone provider, would establish an international cellular giant. AirTouch, the largest independent wireless company in America, has major overseas holdings, especially in Europe. According to the Wall Street Journal, these would fit well with Vodafone's interests in Europe and elsewhere.

Bob, sure is making a big deal out of the Cowboy loss to the Cardinals but to say he would take Jake Plummer any day over Troy Aikman is absurd.

Hey Bob, how many Superbowl rings will Plummer get? Troy has 3 and they can not be taken away.

Bob also said just before the season started that one thing was for sure, that the Broncos wouldn't repeat, then he proceeded to get on their bandwagon, just like he does with regards to Intel.
