"AOL subscibers spent 1.2 billion dollars during 1998 xmas shopping period" , it will be interesting to see how much of that was spent at the BII site. I read that less than 1 % of holiday money was spent on line, a tidy sum but not a revolution at this point. Earth link reported (after the bell) user sign ups increased two months ahead of schedule, unfortunately profits didn't materialize as they had anticipated. This could be a recurring theme going forward.
