Prediction time --- MSFT hits 165 just before earnings release and at least 175 by April.
Reasons:
1- markets in good shape
2- DOJ almost finished -maybe MSFT will start presenting its defense
3- no news on internet success for MSN -I expect it to be good (just like AOL's announcement today
4- They may be making a statement about the date Office2000 becomes available
5- as the stock moves higher, the case for a stock split gets stronger
6- earnings are expected to be great
7- expecting good news from analysts (considering MSN, SQL release, strong PC sales, Office 2000 in the first quarter, window2000 later on --- etc).
8- MSFT normally has an earnings run up

Yea, I know I change it from 150 to 160 and now to 165. This is what i sense right now. I will stick with this prediction of 165 on earning release date.
Any opinions?

BTW, This thread is too quiet -- so i had to do something to get some exchange of ideas.

It is funny it rated CPQ as strong buy. CPQ made 2C last quarter, and the competition continues to be fierce. Low end PCs are almost free now, and profit margin just
getting smaller and smaller , and maybe the more you sell the low end PCs, the more you lose.

PFE as hold , it is just funny too. The new drug it just announced last year will make it of lot of money , and the analyst rated it as a hold. Well, these analysts need to give
some picks to keep their jobs, even though it is so funny. I think , I can be an analyst too.
