I have been accused of not understanding investing itself as well as the finer points of Buffett worship. Let me just say the Wall Street Journal just listed the best performing large -cap stocks of 1998 in yesterdays Year in Review section. I own 4 of them: Dell, Cisco, EMC, and AOL. They are being sneezed at here in the name of orthodox beliefs. But triple digit returns are nothing to be sneezed at IMO
I would share my methods in stock picking but the thread would only ridicule them. I will only say I have a background in investigative journalism and newspaper editing/

I belive Buffett himself would shake his head in disbelief at the orthodxy preached here. I remember him saying that he stepped up and paid up for Coca Cola beyond what he thought was wise and has certainly not regretted it. He did this by the way at Munger's urging He said this in May in Omaha.
And also for those worried about how the market is too high, Munger's advice is "Do not try to predict the currents; predict how things will swim in the currents."
