The first sentence of this post and other like this make me wonder about the average internet stock investor... and shows how easy these stocks could be "taken advantage of" (notice I didnt say manipulated Alicia), because of investors such as this... the panic that can be spread so easily...

I dont understand the mentality that a stock is tanking when it's up 5% for the day.... (this was posted in the last 10 minutes of the trading day to be fair)

From Yahoo board...

Anybody, is this a good time to buy,end of today or will
it keep tanking tommorrow??? in other words will the MMs buy back in today or will they tomorrow or after hours??

Hope to Cover my Short Today

My feeling is that $20 already includes the
Marketwatch IPO speculative value to DBCC.
The stock may establish a new base here,
and go higher into the IPO, but after that
the fources of gravity will take over.
I hope people who bought this stock yesturday
have modest expectations, and are prepared
to take their lumps if fading volume takes
the speculators along with it. I was very
surprised with Monday's volume, so anything
can still happen as long as it keeps up.

As to DBCC buyout speculation by CBS or
another party. I don't understand why
people think a company that; after being
a public concern for 10 years, and being
one of the first players on the internet,
and only manage a few pennies in earnings
per year, with competitors like Reuters,
Bloomberg, and S&P Comstock going after
the retail market more and more, would
command any more value then it's current
stock price would suggest. If anything,
one of DBCC's competitors will buy them
if for no other reason, then to get their
customers. And those competitors already
know DBCC's true value, and are not about
to overpay for it.

I checked with Fidelity's IPO group to see if I could get my hands on mktw (MarketWatch.com), but they don't have access to it. They suggested I wait until the second day, but never recommended dbcc. I explained the play to them in hopes they will pass it on to other mktw seekers <g>.
