I believe that to some extent what you say generally falls along the line of something I've been saying off and on for years, but you say you believe more than a few on this thread think this is a sure thing. More than a few would be more than 7. Who are those "few." Without the list of names, you are just making random, unsupported statements.

You believe that after years of having a company's stock remain low, the speculative nature becomes riskier. Based on what statistical evidence? And has Xoma's stock remained low? It has doubled or tripled four times in the last four years. There are traders who dream of opportunities like that.

Do you also say the same thing about a $90 stock? Would you really rather buy it at $300 or $360?

When Tharos said he would rather buy at $9, Xoma was around $7. I think many agree that it can be a reasonable strategy to buy on a breakout. Time however produces different resistance levels and different moving average paths so while respecting the concept of buying on a breakout it is something else to say one would rater pay 3 or 4 times as much for a stock.

If there is a breakout I will probably add to my position.

Roger, I understand how you feel and you are not wrong in anyway. But some of us have been patient and are willing to continue being so. Every dog has his day, as they say, and we will have ours, if the since is good, and the creek doesn't rise. The people on this thread have not for the most part talked about making money. I has been mostly science and company progress. If you want to buy it at 12 that is ok. I will probably sell some around there and we will both be happy. Good luck and best of wishes for the new year.
