I better run out to get my stale, high-end machine for my new business from my local retailer ... who cares about speed ... stability ... monitor size ... service ... screw the direct guys! I am going to do my part to alleviate the glut! I hope I get one of those super-fast, damp bubblejets with it ... the clients love to see reports on those things!

<GGG>

Just giving you a hard time Skeeter ... I certainly have no special insights as to the inventory situation at retail ... and given the record of the PC companies (i.e., CPQ/IBM/HWP ... with emphasis on the first), we could just as easily find ourselves in another glut.

How many chips do you think there are in my new 36" Wega v. my old 20" Toshiba?

On topic: Great "Outstanding Investor" in the mail yesterday ... I recommend it for people who do not mind paying up for a subscription. Mandatory Buffet/Munger piece. Mason Hawkins interview. Julian Robertson chat. Marty Whitman et. al. talk a bit about the SemiCap business. Not too much detail, as per his practice, but good "perspective piece." Big holder of LRCX, KLAC, AMAT, SVGI, etc. They have a website ... http:///www.outstandinginvestor.com
