Craig - Re: " What do you think Intel will offer MIS managers to dissuade them from standardizing on CeleronA/400s? "

First, Intel's existing Pentium II's are still in high demand - but will be shoved down the price curve when the Pentium III/Katmai is introduced in 2 months.

Second, Katmai/Pentium III will provide a replacement for existing Pentium II price/performance segment. The ASPs on these will be in the $300 - $600 range with 450 and 500 MHz speed grades.

KNI performance will keep this segment separate from Celeron until the first of next year.

Third, XEONs are zooming out the door - at ASPs from $700+ to $3600+, they represent incredible profitability for Intel.

With Celerons replacing the already CHEAP Pentium MMX, Intel's ASPs will not only be maintained, but have a good chance to increase slightly over the next few quarters.
