All,

I realize that I am ignorant in (at least) one key engineering issue here.

What is the probable number of discrete parts a fuel cell powered drive train would entail? How does that number compare to what we have in today's internal combustion cars? I have always more or less assumed it would be considerably less, but the construct in the back of the vehicle illustrated in Hawkeye's link to TheCarConnection.com appears "multidimensional" to say the least.
