New Displays Deliver Outstanding Image Quality and Complement Stunning
Industrial Design of Power Macintosh G3 Line

SAN FRANCISCO, MacWorld Expo, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Apple Computer, Inc.
(NASDAQ:AAPL) today unveiled three new Apple Studio Displays that deliver
outstanding image quality and complement the striking design of the new Power
Macintosh(R) G3 line. The new Apple Studio Displays include a 21-inch
color-accurate Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) display for publishing professionals; a
crisp 17-inch CRT display designed for a wide range of applications; and, a
new version of its award-winning 15-inch flat-panel active matrix Liquid
Crystal Display (LCD).
"Our professional customers demand super-crisp images and outstanding
design from their displays," said Philip Schiller, Apple's vice president of
Worldwide Product Marketing. "Coupling any one of these stylish, high
performance Apple Studio Displays with a new Power Macintosh G3, adds up to
the best Macintosh system ever."
By combining one of Apple's new Studio Displays with a Power Macintosh G3,
customers can purchase the most complete Macintosh(R) system to date. The new
Power Macintosh G3 line is perfect for design professionals who want to run
the most powerful image-editing packages, home users looking for a machine
that can handle the latest in graphics-intensive games and Internet
applications, and educators who want a high-performance machine that is a
solid investment for the future.

The new line includes:

* The Apple Studio Display with ColorSync -- This 21-inch display
(19.8-inch viewable image size) is the ultimate display for publishing
professionals, offering unparalleled Trinitron CRT performance. Complementing
its stunning outward appearance, the display offers flicker-free viewing,
ultra-fine resolution (1600 x 1200 at 85Hz), a four-port USB hub and a unique
tilt-and-swivel stand that allows you to slide a keyboard underneath for extra
desktop space. It features lifetime color calibration using ColorSync(R)
technology, Apple's industry-standard software for managing color on computer
monitors, scanners and printers, and it provides intuitive push button access
to software controls for all screen adjustments.

* The Apple Studio Display -- This aggressively-priced 17-inch display
(16-inch viewable image size) combines stylish design with a high performance
DiamondTron CRT. The display offers a super-fine 0.25mm aperture grille
pitch, support for multiple resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 at 60Hz, and an
anti-reflective screen coating. Multi-lingual on-screen display controls are
provided and the display's tilt-and-swivel stand allows for easy keyboard
storage.

* The Apple Studio Display, 15-inch flat-panel -- This award-winning
display offers spectacular performance through thin film transistor
active-matrix LCD technology. The display is extremely bright and sharp, with
an incredible contrast ratio that eliminates distortion and provides
flicker-free images. Apple designed the display to offer smart scaling for
support of multiple resolutions, a wide viewing angle and video input. It
includes a tilt-and-swivel and height adjustable base for optimal viewing
comfort, and offers a space-saving small foot print that can be further
reduced with the alternate Picture Frame stand.
